What Does The Bible Say About Numerology?
The Bible provides clear guidance on practices that are considered sinful, including numerology. Deuteronomy 18:10-12 categorically condemns practices such as divination, interpreting omens, and engaging in sorcery, all of which can encompass numerology. The Bible strongly discourages seeking guidance or meaning from sources other than God.
The Bible consistently emphasizes the importance of placing our trust solely in God. Numerology often leads individuals to believe they can divine meaning or direction from numbers or patterns, which is contrary to the Bible’s message. Proverbs 3:5-6 for instance, instructs us to trust God and not lean not on our own understanding.
Numerology can sometimes lead to the idolization of numbers and the belief that they hold power or influence over one’s life. This is a form of idolatry, which the Bible strongly condemns. Exodus 20:3 reminds us, “You shall have no other gods before me.”

Is It a Sin To Believe in Numerology?
